In 1972, the American Lung Association declared May as Clean Air Month, marking the beginning of a transformative initiative. What started as an awareness campaign to support pioneering air quality legislation has now evolved into a global public health movement. Clean Air Month holds deep significance for Fellowes®, as we are committed to Unleashing WorkLife Potential through our product innovations and ability to demonstrate the crucial importance of prioritizing clean air for everyone.

Clean Air Month brings our focus to enhancing indoor air quality (IAQ) in the places we live, work, and learn. Whether it’s shared office spaces or classrooms, most of us spend considerable time indoors, often in large groups and for extended durations. Consequently, it is unsurprising that indoor air quality in these more densely populated areas significantly impacts our overall health and well-being.

To underscore the significance of clean indoor air, Fellowes conducted research and found that 91% of respondents agreed clean indoor air helps them perform their best at work. And in the education sector, 97% of teachers agree that clean indoor air has a direct impact on how students perform in the classroom.

Improving IAQ poses a unique challenge, as different spaces require tailored strategies for effective protection. Recognizing this, Fellowes has developed a wide range of solutions designed to enhance IAQ across various settings.

In smaller, densely populated areas like offices and classrooms, optimal IAQ is achieved through specialized purification systems that deliver a high number of air exchanges per hour in a compact design. The Fellowes AeraMax® SE is capable of covering up to 1000 square feet, while the AeraMax® SV is designed for spaces up to 1500 square feet. Both models have proven efficacy in safeguarding against prevalent IAQ contaminants such as pollen, dust, pet dander, smoke, and volatile organic compounds.

For larger spaces like conference rooms and gyms that frequently used as gathering areas, the challenge intensifies with higher volumes of people and an increased introduction of contaminants into the air. To address this, Fellowes offers the AeraMax™ Pro AM4 FLEX, an advanced air purifier specifically designed for such applications. Equipped with 4 separate H13 True HEPA Filtration chambers, this innovative purifier eliminates 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, ensuring optimal air quality. The mobility of the AM4 FLEX, with its stand-mounted casters, allows for easy deployment and coverage wherever it is needed.

Clean Air Month serves as a vital reminder of the interconnectedness between outdoor and indoor air quality and the profound influence it has on our performance and overall well-being.  Prioritizing clean air is vital for everyone, regardless of where they live, work or learn.  By understanding the diverse challenges of maintaining indoor air quality and utilizing advanced purification solutions like Fellowes Air Purifiers, we can create healthier environments for ourselves and those around us.
